Error on Sophos Email appliances - host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 450 try later (in reply to end of DATA command)

Hi Guys,

Our Sophos Email Appliances are showing an error and not delivering mail, which is stuck in the "Pre-Filter deferred" queue.

We are also seeing this error:

host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 450 try later (in reply to end of DATA command)

Is anyone else getting this? Sophos Support say they are having a massive worldwide problem with Sophos Email Appliances today, but I'm not seeing anyone talking about the problem which I was expecting.

Thanks

Radek

  • Good Morning All,

The issue was still present this morning so I called Sophos Support and requested some more information.  The first level tried to push me away but I requested to speak to someone further up the chain.  I was transferred to a tech who dialled in and resolve the issue.

Prior to requesting the tech connect via SSH go to your configuration tab and select Network.  From there run the test to confirm you are able to access Sophos' SSH server.  If not resolve that first then call them.  You will need SSH enable outbound from your SEA to eas-ssh.sophos.com.  Good Luck!

The tech was able to resolve the issue relatively quickly.  Mail is now flowing for the organisation.

    Regards.
