SEA eDirectory connector

Question

Hi. 
 
 I see the SEA has an edirectory connector that seems to work fine, and has connected and picked up our primary email addresses for users. 
 But by default it also looks for an ldap property called aliases which doesn't exist within our eDirectory. 
 
 But if we have multiple email addresses for the user it will fail if we enable SMTP Recipient validation via Directory Services. Is the only real solution to have it set to go via Downstream SMTP look-ahead 
 
 Does that work for other users?

 If you're using an Edirectory connector, you may use Configuration Sync for recipient verification. Here are the KBAs Sophos Email Appliance: Configuration Sync for Unix/Linux machines and Sophos Email Appliance: Configuration Sync for windows machines . 
 And if you want to use downstream SMTP look-ahead option, The Email Appliance's mail transfer agent (MTA) will connect to the internal mail server to confirm that an address exists.
