ES1100 root password

We received a replacement ES1100 for one that is failing.  I have configured it and set it's IP and name to the same as the one it is replacing. It is currently disconnected from the network to prevent confusion.  It now won't let me log in.  I do not know/remember the admin password and for some reason it doesn't like mine.  I was going to try and reset the admin password but I don't know the root password either.

Any ideas? I tried hooking a monitor and keyboard to the unit and rebooting. Instructions I found say to do that and when it gets to the GRUB loader press the ESC key.  I don't ever see the GRUB loader screen.

  • Pony10,

unfortunately the procedure is for UTM9 and not for SEA. For the last, you need to contact the Support because only them know the password.

I had an issue with ES1100 too where I needed to restore the configuation and only support could import and restore it.

This is a really bad news. We should have access to SEA and SWA appliances as we do with XG/UTM.

  • This is the correct answer.  I agree that we should have the ability to handle this the same as the XG/UTM.  I finally broke down and contacted support after several days (over a week) of trying to fix myself) and, after a few other equipment issues on my side, they were able to assist me in resting the password.

    Thank you
