Using email appliance for SMTP getting relay access denied error when sending email to outside addresses , internal addresses work fine , what am i missing

Have you configured IP addresses in 'Configuration | Routing | Internal Mail Hosts'.? These are the IP addresses that are allowed to send e-mail to external addresses. Usually this will just need to be the IP of your internal mail server(s), or any internal systems that send mail to the outside world.
Be careful when configuring these to only include hosts you trust to send outbound mail.
