Firefox NTLM not working correctly...

I'm getting ready to mass deploy Firefox but I'm having an issue with the NTLM settings of the about:config settings inside of Firefox.

I've set this in times past with no issues.  I've went in and set our webappliance name inside of the network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris string and it still prompts for username and password.

Should this setting be the FQDN or the http site?

  • Hi Guys,

Yes, by default the browser is directed to the short hostname rather than FQDN for authentication.  Eg:  http://appliance rather than http://appliance.domain.tld

This helps in circumstances where there are multiple domains and an individual DNS record might be needed in each.  If it causes a problem in your environment, please do call Sophos support, as they can change this to point at the FQDN instead.

    Thanks,
    Tom.
