SPX configuration issues on ESVIRTUAL

We have been using the complete security suite for a number of months now, and I am finally finding the time to test the mail encryption piece.

The default installation by the Sophos tech at the start has the process like this:

1. Internal person sends encrypted mail.

2. Appliance sends mail to internal person with generated password.

3. Person calls external contact.

4. External contact enters password and opens encrypted email PDF.

However the way it was demonstrated to me made much more sense and had less management.

1. Internal person sends mail

2. External person gets mail linking them to the SEA.

3. External person fills in short form and gets access.

4. Internal person is informed

5. External person can open encrypted PDF.

How do I change method A to method B?

  • Hi,

The SPX encryption password setting is done via the SPX template being used in a policy rule.  You can customize your own personal SPX template that chooses the type of password service.  To do that goto the Configuration -> Policy -> SPX Encryption tab and select either the SPX template already there or create a new one with a different password setting.
