Has anybody managed to get a WS500 setup with a Sonicwall firewall in transparent mode?
I recently purchase a WS500 web security appliance and read through the documentation. I jumped at the transparent mode implementation method because it would easily allow me to implement in an environment containing desktops and laptops. In explicit mode I'd have to use PAC files to allow laptops to access the web when out and about.
I tried configging my Sonicwall NSA3500 and couldn't get it to work, so contacted Sonicwall who provided me with some completely useless support. After suggesting several configurations none of which related to what I was trying to do they came back and said it couldn't be done.
I'm really surprised that a highly configurable device like a Sonicwall won't allow me to redirect all port 80 and 443 to the WS500 and allow any requests from the WS500 through.
Anyone figured out how to do it? I'd be really grateful for your assistance.
