Activity Report shows Sites that are blocked in WS500 ?

Hi all,

we use a WS500. For most of our users the access to facebook is forbidden. If i generate a report within the WS500 UI there are many entrys for facebook.com. For some users "facebook.com" is shown as the most surfed site although facebook.com is blocked for them!?

Any idea what causes this many facebook.com entrys in reports for users which should not be able to access this url?

  • Hi Maximus,

This is most likely caused by sites that have facebook plug-ins embedded within them, where you can see "friends" that may have commented on news articles within a site, for example.  I see this most commonly used on news types of sites, where they make it easy for you to share an article.

    Some examples are:

    www . nytimes . com

    www . engadget . com

Hope that helps.  If you have concerns that your users are actually able to get to Facebook, then please call into Support so we can have a look.
