Puremessage trigger messages backing up in IIS Pickup folder

OS - Server 2003 R2

IIS 6

Puremessage - 3.1

I've noticed the our backup is taking longer and longer each evening. Eventually I tracked the problem down to the Pickup subfolder of Mailroot, in the Inetpub folder. There are about 100 emails created and saved in every 5 minutes, all with the same message:

"PureMessage trigger message sent by MailSending.dll"

There were originally around 800,000 of these messages until I cleared the folder, but as I say, they're backing up at around 100 every 5 minutes.

I can't find a setting in Puremessage that would turn this off, or at least delete them regularly - the folder isn't Read Only, so they should be clearable.

Any thoughts?
