PureMessage not updating?

In my event viewer, I'm getting the following message repeating:

Event Type:WarningEvent Source: PureMessageEvent Category:NoneEvent ID:4Date:7/8/2011Time:3:51:31 PMUser:N/AComputer:SERVERDescription:Threat detection data is too old. Please update Sophos Anti-Virus.

I tried to update the Anti Virus, but it appears I am using a version more than 3 months old. Is it the Pure Message or the Antivirus that needs to be updated?

    I've neither SBS nor PureMessage but as the rest of the community stays mum I'll put in my two cents.

    Please update Sophos Anti-Virus

    is IMO pretty clear. Now both AV and PM should update automatically so you should investigate why it did not. In order to assess the situation we'd nee some information though - in particular the product (PureMessage and SAV) versions (as detailed as possible), your update settings (you do update from Sophos) and the server OS. Also how you tried to update SAV and which error you got.

    BTW - the forum is not the ultimate support authority and although the event is classified as WARNING running with outdated protection is not a negligibility and you should perhaps contact Support.
