PureMessage for Exchange: Appears to be ignoring "Allow Specific Sender" (IP)

Hello,

In the last day or two we are noticing PureMessage appears to be ignoring the "Alllow Specific Sender" - Specifically IPs of our HP Digital senders.  PureMessage is scoring any message sent from the digital sender between 79-89 even when all HP IPs are in the allowed sender list.  User logon on the Digital Senders via LDAP connection. The scanned PDFs are emailed by the scanner to Exchange via authenticated SMTP connection with users current logon credentials.

This is a relatively new issue we are seeing... this week. Last week we had no problems.

Anyone else experiancing the samething?  Any ideas how to resolve?

  • Hi Kevin,

Are you still running into this problem? In the time that you had this problem, were there any changes made in your environment, either regarding the Puremessage configuration or the IP addresses that were in use?

One thing to verify is to look at the message headers to verify which IP addresses these flagged emails went through to ensure that the appropriate IP addresses match what you have in your Puremessage allowed senders configuration. As well, you can look at the Trusted Relays under System Configuration to see what matches there: Section 5.2.3 goes over the options available pertaining to those IPs.

Otherwise, if you haven't already, you could open a support case to take a closer inspection into your configuration, along with some sample messages, to see why these messages were scoring so high.
