Reinjection SEA

I´ve a strange setup for my e-mail flow. My internal mail server is exchange. In the DMZ I have a SEA appliance and outside I´m using the Postini service. My only problem is, that Postini needs an "reinjection" of the emails. The addresses of the Postini servers are set  as Outbound mail proxy on the SEA   and these addresses  are also in the trusted relays.

But when the Postini server wants to make a reinjection, my SEA appliance responds me with the following error: Relay access denied - reinject host   refused rcpt to: - psmtp (in reply to end of DATA command). Have I any chance to get it right?

Thanks

Chris

  • Hi Chris,

This looks like the Postfix MTA is not allowing the Postini server to relay messages through.  After examining the Postini documents for reinjection messages, you need to add the IP's of that server to the Internal Mail Hosts section of the appliance configuration.  I assume that the Postini reinjection servers are not part of the mainstream servers as adding a relay host that is not controlled by your company can open up your server to be a potential open relay for spam.
