Sophos-PureMessage-ReportDataDumpTask Stopping Backup from running

Hi

I have a problem with a Windows Server Backup running on a SBS2008 box. Everytime the server is rebooted, the backup will not run until the task 'Sophos-PureMessage-ReportDataDumpTask ' has the trigger changed from every minute to every 10 minutes. The backup will start on schedule after this change.

However, after a reboot the task trigger is again set back every minute - how can I stop this from happening? It's annoying to find out after a couple of days that the backup hasn't been running due to this.

Hello. By the sounds of it, you have already gone through the steps listed in http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/40254.html to modify the scheduled task frequency. There's a known issue whereby some systems reset that schedule to the default, so the workaround is to use one of the u ndocumented behaviours within Puremessage and rename the scheduled task to Sophos-PureMessage-ReportDataDumpTask-Custom to fix the problem. Puremessage will continue to recognize the job since the underlying process is the same, but this will avoid the problem for the time being.
