Can we import PureMessage settings from one server to another ?

We had a problem with not being able to access PureMessage console

(/search?q= 11153 )

never managed to solve it even with the help of the support team.

Anyway, we are now in the process of replacing the old server (SBS 2003), with a new one (SBS 2011).

We can't access the puremessage console on the old one (SBS2003) - BUT we can browse through the xml files with the configurations (i.e. GeneralConfig.xml, LocalConfig.xml, SMTPConfig.xml, StoreConfig.xml). Can we somehow import settings from the old server to the new one (so that the new one has the same settings for files etc that it should handle).

And one more question .

We installed the PureMessage Console in the SBS2011 with a trial license key . Now that we've got our license key renewed, how can we activate it through the console ?

  • Hi,

You can copy the 4 XML files onto the new system and once Puremessage is installed, launch the console and go to System and Configuration. In the rightmost action panel, one of the options is Restore Configuration, which you can use to point to the folder where the XML files are located and import your old settings.

For reference, you can review Section 5.2.10 within the documentation.
