Question: IPv6 on RED

Ipv6 works over RED (UTM to UTM) and has been working for a while. What you probably mean is RED over Ipv6? that is not implemented.
RED is just a Remote Ethernet Cable and doesnt care whats beeing run over it.

Hi Ben, no i ment RED to UTM connection, if you have transparent activated the IPv6 traffic is routed via internet and not via the tunnel to the UTM

of course Ipv6 traffic is routed via internet and not via tunnel, assuming you use the delegated public prefix. IPv6 normally uses globally routed Adresses. You'd have to assign a local IPv6 prefix to a network connected via red (i dont think split mode would work) and route everything through it, than do masquerading on the IPv6 Subnet behind the RED -OR- have a /64 (from the provider) assigned to the RED network, activate prefix advertisment or DHCPv6 on that Interface.

i just double-checked it and i was verry wondering ... the traffic is now routed via red ... something has changed here ... but hey, i'm happy with that :)
