I use the disk version on a asg 110/120 rev 1 with 512 mb Ram. Before i use this i had about 70% ram use and 10% swap. (asg only make pf an web proxy) now i have ca. 35% ram use and 30% swap use and the storage increase to 20% before it was around 10%. My question is: is this normal or why does the asg half the ram use and double the swap use? When someone wanted i can send a screen shot.

the database is on the disk but the index is still in ram. there is going to be a ram increase even with disk mode. considering you are running woefully inadequate ram you are going to dig into swap with any kind of ram increase. You need at least 1 gig of ram..with a realistic minimum of two gigs. I would return your proxy use to none(the normal cloud based way) until you get a serious ram upgrade.
Thanks for your hint. I will change it back to none. I would do a ram upgrade but my information is that the asg 110 rev 1 ( via 667 mhz) can only handle 512 mb ram Is there a special ram or maybe a bios update that the model can handle 1 gig ram?
I also implemented the change today using the disk option. Given that I am using an mtron SSD there should be increased performance over a standard hard disk. I may try the menory option as I have 4gb of ram on the Astaro box. Performance is very good.
i want to try this really on my customer's firewalls but i want to be sure if i didnt get the same results as the one you got, how to revert back to the old configuration before doing the changes??

How should i know that it downloaded the files (300 MB) and it is done??
i just did that on my ASG 625 and didnt notice a big difference.also it didnt consume alot from the memory.
