I am not very familiar with the zones concept. I setup a test environment with 3 vlan's.
So tried to add those vlans to Zones which i created. Event with the policie that the zone could go with every Services to the internet it was not possible. It only works when i changed my vlans to the LAN zone. Is that the way it should be?.
Another issue in my policies was that i tried to restrict the source not even on the zone but also on on dedicated Vlan. I entered a LAN in to the source tab (Zone was LAN). No way. I could ping my DNS Server (google 8.8.8.8) but he was not able to resolve the name.
I did not found any Documentation about it. Is there someone who could explain me why and how Zones are working or the concept of zoning.
