[ANSWERED] Site-to-site IPSEC VPN don't initiate the connection again

Hello,

if you configure a IP-SEC Tunnel with ,,Action on VPN Restart: Initiate" the Tunnel is down if the tunnel is closed (WAN interface goes down) or problems on the other side and came not up again.

Only if you click on Connect the tunnel works again. The active icon is red too. But ofter you click on connect, the tunnel is up again and working.

I had the exact same thing. For some reason the VPN connection went down and it didn't start up again. After manually clicking on the "connect" button everything works fine again...

I had this problem 3 times after I disable the WAN interface.

I've had it occur once up until now. The other side of the VPN is an UTM 9.3.

After setting up the VPN on copernicus it came online, but during the night it went down and never came up. I just manually connected it again a few minutes ago (I just woke up [:D]). I'll monitor to see if it happens again.

Just happened again. I noticed it failed with a message of : "IPSec SA expired" ?

Figured out why this happens. Had to create a new IPSec policy and enable "Allow Re-keying". Now the IPSec SA expiricy errors are gone and the VPN is stable and stays online.

Hi Alex,

Were you using default BranchOffice / HeadOffice Policy or any custom policy ? we have tested the same with default BO / HO policy and we didn't faced such issue.
