I am running Site-to-Site VPN with just one site and have only 3 workstations behind the Astaro.

I am running Deluge Bittorrent on 1 machine that is on the IPS exception list for anti-portscan.

I suspect your problem is caused by the VPN. At the moment I don't have a place to try a VPN from. This will change over the next couple of months.

Also, in the IM/P2P menu, what settings do you have for bittorrent?

Hi,
tonight I am downloading a big file using bittorrent. I am able to choose socks 4 or 5 or http or https. 
I started out using socks 5 which runs okay, but lots of dropped packets. I tried the http proxy and it failed as I thought it would. So next I progressed to the socks 4 proxy, that brought the ASG to its knees. No extreme CPU occupancy, no overloads logged.
My e-mail client failed to connect, webadmin dropped out, bittorrent stopped downloading. I changed the torrent back to socks 5 and everything restored to normal.

I have bittorrent set to log. 

To reduce the amount of packets being dropped I have added a DNAT rule and the torrent is now running up to it limits without any complaints from the gaming fraternity, my 2 sons.
