[7.091] Problems with Pattern Up2Date

Hi.

I have got the last pattern update 11-30-2007 4:49 AM.

The automatic pattern download is active, the up2date overview gives the infos:
Current pattern version: 5618
Latest available pattern version: 5619

Our ASG in my offive (7.011) give the Info: Latest available pattern version: 5661!

Do we have an up2date problem in 7.091?

This are the normal entries I see since more than three days.

    The pattern version is a concept that needs some explanation (at least :-) )

    Pattern updates are e.g.:
    - AntiVirus patterns
    - Intrusion Protection patterns
    - Manuals
    - Online Help

    All pattern updates share a global pattern version, e.g.
    - new ips patterns: 5001
    - new manual (ASGs only) 5002
    - new manual (Software) 5003
    - online help (ASGs only) 5004
    - antivirus patterns hw scanner 5005
    ...

    On the other hand, we only download the patterns that are useable (ASG patterns only on ASGs) and used (feature is enabled) to save our customers bandwidth.

    So if the latest available pattern update is either not usable on your machine or not used, the current pattern version will differ from the latest available.

    Thank you for your explanations.

    But I think there was a problem. In our office we are using 7.011 on a Dell Server (not a compliance) with activated IPS, automatic Up2date for patterns and ASG Version, AV-Scan for Mails.
    No AV-Scan for HTTP-Proxy. This proxy is not usable because it is not configurable to use at first our packet filters and then the Proxy.

    My test system is also a PC system, all services activated too, additional the AV scan for the HTTP Proxy.

    I dont understand that i got here with 7.091 more than three days no updates - all was configured fine.

    Just after 7.100 was loaded I got the pattern 5662!?

    Are you sure that there was (is) no problem?

    PS: I will send you a reply if I see further problems. Will you read the threads in the V7.100 beta board in the future?

    Yes, you are right, I just learned that there was a problem on the beta update server.
