ASG Appliance owners please read

How does one determine what rev ASG220 they have? Mine has no indication on the labels, other than it was manufactured June 2007.

within the serial number on the bottom site the appliance version is encoded.
Please post (or send me a PM with) the first 10 digits of it (should start with A01) and I can help you.

In general this may help:

Digit 1 (Letter "A")
 A like Astaro...

Digit 2-3 (Product Type)
 Currently defined product types are:
 00 - ASG110/ASG120
 01 - ASG220
 02 - ASG320
 03 - ASG425
 04 - ASG525
 05 - ASG525F
 09 - Components

Digit 4-6 (Revision Number)
 Indicates the specific revision (hardware configuration) of the product type Currently defined revision numbers are:
 000 - ASG 110/120 with 20GB HDD 
 001 - ASG 110/120 with 40GB HDD 
 002 - ASG 110/120 with 40GB HDD 
 003 - ASG 110/120 with 40GB HDD and Fan - since 30.9.06

 005 - ASG220 
 006 - ASG220 
 007 - ASG220 with orange LCD 
 024 - ASG220 rev.2 

 00B/00C/00D/00E/00F/01C/01D/01E - ASG425

I use an ASG220 rev.1. Can I get a evaluation license from Astaro?

How does one determine what rev ASG220 they have? Mine has no indication on the labels, other than it was manufactured June 2007.

ASG220 rev. 2 has 2 USB Ports and a COM port on the front side, while ASG 220 rev. 1 has no USB/COM port on the front side.

Thanks Marcus... mine has revision #007, so it's not a rev2 :-( Kind of ticks me off that a model I bought in September 2007 wouldn't be the latest hardware...

This issue is fixed in Up2Date 7.080.

I have successfully installed the ASG V7.100 Beta in my ASG425 for testing purpose.
However, when I uploaded my license, it was not valid. 

I tried to acquire new evaluation license from my.astaro.com, but still no luck.

Is there any special license that I should create?

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you INSTALL a NEW version from CD. If you use the normal ISO file this will make your appliance behave as a SOFTWARE install on third party Hardware - you would need the SAI ISO image specifically for appliances.

well, i wish i would have seen this before i hosed up my ASG. *sigh*... other than doing a complete reload, is there a work around to fix this? maybe via the commandline? For instance, can i upload the .080 patch directly via cmdline and then force an update?

Yes you can:
Copy the file to /var/up2date/sys
then call auisys.plx
