The AP50 beta units are ETSI units and thus only allowed to be used in countries that are not regulated by the FCC. So the beta units may not be used in the US for example.
Setting the country code for an AP in webadmin will do the following:
- It restricts the list of allowed channels to a subset of available channels as supported by the device and the allowed ones in the selected country/regulatory domain
- It will provide country hints to client devices in range (they don't have to be connected)
The administrator is responsible for configuring the country code to the actual country the AP is used in. If the country setting is incorrect it might conflict with local regulation laws.
In case no country is selected the AP will only allow channel 1-11 in the 2,4Ghz band to be used.
