Cannot upload 17.5 beta2 backup

Hi Luk,

You need a minimum of IPS signature 9.15.38. I had the same issue, it then updates from 3.x to 9.15.35 which is still too low and it nedds another final update.

This is not a bug, it looks like there is a drastic enough difference to make a restriction on applying backups. It just would be nice if the error was more verbose but this is an ongoing issue with all error messages on the XG.

Thanks Emile for your feedback but before trying to upload the backup config, I waited until all patterns updated, performed a reboot and tried again without success.
As you can see from the screenshot, it was 12:46 and at that time, IPS was using 9.15.42 version.

What IPS pattern is actually reported by the GUI in Backup & Firmware > Pattern Updates?

When did you take the back up? If you took it today, the IPS pattern version is likely to be 9.15.44 which is the current version.

I took the backup at 12:40. At the moment the ips signature is 9.15.43

If it gets to 9.15.44 and still won't apply then there might be a bug in the version detection system.

I found a workaround this afternoon by doing the following steps:

• waited for all patterns to be up-to-date (ips version was .42)
• upload xg backup 17.1.3
• Reboot

That's all! I was however not able to upload a 17.5.beta2 backup from 12.20 today backup.

I guess there should be a log which gives more details to us on why today I was not able to upload a 17.5 beta2 backup. I will investigate.

Hi Luk,

If you take a backup now and try to re-apply it, does it work?

If you record the IPS version of the backup then build a new box and confirm that you can apply the backup once it gets to the correct IPS version. If you cannot, then it is a bug, if you can, you still might not have been on the correct IPS version on your earlier attempt.
