Feature request: Add 6rd option under IP Assignment on physical interface settings for DHCP WAN connections

Hello.

I've read the 2-year old threads on how to configure 6rd but they assume static IP assignments on the v6 side at least. This does not work on dynamic IP address WAN connections. It would be great if the XG firmware could support this situation with 6rd.

The physical interface IPv6 settings would need to add a third IP Assignment option for 6rd that then asked for the 6rd prefix, prefix length, IPv4 CE mask length and IPv4 border router address. Then it could establish the 6rd connection and obtain an IPv6 WAN address just like it does now with DHCP v6. (Then the rest of the LAN configuration (RAs, etc.) would work the sameas with a DHCP v6 WAN connection.)

Is this in anyway related to DHCP-PD which is used primarily for stateless IPv6 connections?

I don't think so. 6rd is used by ISPs who still have an IPv4 infrastructure. It's essentially a special case of a 6to4 tunnel. My main problem is that the current XG configuration assumes a static IPv4 gateway address so it doesn't work for DHCP WAN connections, precluding using IPv6 on such ISPs.
