Where has the Use Outbound Address NAT Advanced Option Gone?

We're running SFOS 18.0.0 EAP1-Refresh1 and things seem to be going reasonably OK so far, until it came to setting up a new outbound MASQ on an alias IP.

Is it just me missing something or has the option which was previously available in Advanced > NAT & Routing for the Outbound Address on masquerades completely disappeared?

  • Thanks,

We need to plan the upgrade to EAP2 yet, as at present we'd like to keep the option to drop back to 17.5 and it's a HA cluster which makes that complicated.

Does the Linked NAT in EAP2 definitely resolve the missing Outbound IP option, as that might speed up when this happens?

What we're trying to achieve is basically this: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/123295

We have a number of hosts which need to MASQ out on address 1.1.1.y which is an alias of our WAN interface on 1.1.1.x

  • Hi,

running EAP in a production environment is a bit of a risk. If the firewall rule exists already, the your backup/restore should create it. If you did an upgrade then that also should have created all the NATs you require.

EAP 1 refresh 1 has some stability issues and upgrading to EAP2 on production machines unless very late models might fail because of BIOS issues.
