FastPath + NetFlow

Just a quick question since this is a BIG caveat with other vendors equipment.

Have read through the docs but can't seem to find any info on this.

If I switch on NetFlow , do I effectively slow path all traffic ?

ie Does NetFlow disable Offloaded decisions to be  uncachable so they cannot be applied to the traffic without having to use the
SlowPath

Also when can we please please please get V9 & IPFIX Compatibility as well as the ability to define timeout value for active and inactive flow   ?

A cheapo $50 Mikrotik or ancient entry level 10 year old Cisco has better NetFlow Capabilities and creates more accurate flows.

Btw . Kudos to you guys for finally supporting a log format that any standard log parser like Splunk can now properly ingest and analyze.

  • Hi,

Enabling netflow will not have an effect on the fast path / slow path logic.

IPFIX is a feature that we have in our backlog.  We do not have netflow V9 in our backlog as IPFIX provides many advantages over v9 and most flow collectors support IPFIX.

I appreciate the note on logs.  The team checked in hundreds of enhancements there.  We're nowhere near done on the logging front though.  More to come, but that is for another release.
