Hello everyone,
I'm currently "trying" to switch from a Hyper-V UTM to a virtual XGS with SFOS 20.0.1.
The VM configuration: 4 cores (Intel W-2175) and 6 GB RAM.
The old UTM runs very smoothly, adding/editing rules happens almost in real time and it's fun to make larger changes in one go.
The XGS, on the other hand, drives me crazy:
- CPU usage practically zero (hardly anything is running on it)
- Configuring/editing VLANs 7-10s
- Configuring/editing rules 7-10s
- other things run a bit smoother (SSL inspection/SD-WAN/edit NAT rules) 4-5s
But the worst part is the 10s + page refresh when saving the rules. Since these are sometimes frequent tasks, especially at the beginning/during migrations or simply because you want to reorganize things, you shy away from the work and prefer to devote yourself to the UTM again ;-)
It is simply much too slow and makes me doubt its suitability. What about an XGS 107 for small customers?
How can this be accelerated or will it be improved in the future?
