Sophos Notification System Customization

When receiving such as the example attached it would be helpful if there were a user generated field included.  We often use this field to help us identify customers (XYZ Realty Group or ABC Construction Corp) as the notification is otherwise very generic.

It's nice that we can be notified when VPN tunnels go down or a site that has lost Internet access is back up again but matching site/customer by IP address is made even more difficult when the customer uses DHCP with their ISP.  Including a prefix or suffix in the notification settings or another user generated field espeically in the subject line would help us use Outlook/Exchange rules.

I'm working this as a suggestion instead of a question but if in-fact this feature already exists please point me to it.  Thanks.

Example:

Subject: Gateway DHCP_Port2_GW Came Up

  • Hi,

I am not sure if your suggestion has been submitted as a feature request, but also change the gateway to something meaningful like the external address of the XG?

Even change it to the DNS name if it has one?

Yours is not the first request and will not be the last until it is changed.
