Error Install Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition - ERROR: fail to create default /var

Question

Downloaded to try out Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition. However during installation, it give error 
 "ERROR: failed to create default /var 
 Error configuring partitions 
 Aborting 
 press y to reboot 
 
 My motherboard as follow; 
 Motherboard : SuperMicro X7SPE-HF-D525

This is an old thread, but it is amazing what search throws up. So for the interest of others who might have a similar problem, the error is due to a problem with your install media. Follow the recommended installation instructions: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/126906 
 I used rufus with Direct Write and was able to install XG no problem on a SuperMicro X7SPE-HF-D525
