Hillft Update 7.403 bei RAM Problem

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe folgende Meldung auf meiner Astaro ASG 220, obwohl ich vor dem 7.400 Update das RAM auf 1GB Upgrade durchgeführt habe.

The memory usage of this system during the last 7 days was high. The memory either averaged over 75% utilization or experienced multiple periods of full memory use. High memory usage can cause hard disk swapping which reduces throughput and increases latency of several applications.
Hence, while not mandatory, you may benefit from increasing the memory of this unit through an official Upgrade option, adding an additional unit to create a cluster, or moving up to a higher capacity model. The display of this message does not in any way impede current capabilities, the ability to install Up2Date packages, or utilize available new features.

Bringt es was wenn ich einfach Firmware 7.403 einspiele oder brauche ich tatsächlich neue Hardware, wenn ja bin ich schwer enttäuscht von Astaro.

    MShenk, if you do need to upgrade to an ASG320, I bet Astaro will give you full credit for the ASG220.  I would not cluster two 220s.

    As the other posters above have said, memory and swap usage normally are not a problem.  

    I suspect that you have a misconfiguration.  I assume that your reseller asked enough questions to decide that an ASG220 should work for you.  Before looking for a misconfiguration, could you tell us how many users you have and whether you are using IPS, Web Security and Mail Security?

    [Well, that's why I hesitate to post when I can't think in German.  I'm involved in a big project in French now, and that's all I get when I turn English off.  I apologize that I turned this into a thread in English.]

    Marcus, given the number of users you have, the volume of useless email and the use of IPS, Web-Sec and Mail-Sec, I would never recommend a 220 for your situation.

    The 320 would be the right ASG appliance.  However, in this range, a 100-IP software license with an HP DL server probably costs less.  In my experience, Astaro will give you full trade-in value if you want to upgrade to a 320 or a 100-IP license.

    Hello Bob, I just wanted to give you an updated status on our problem here. Our reseller here in Germany told us that Astaro denied to take our ASG220 back. We had to buy a new one and have double expenses. I can't really accept Astaro's policy here and trying towork out  a solutionwith the reseller. Preferrable like you said a astaro software solution running on a self bought server with enough ram. Right now it's so bad that we can't use the mail manager anymore since this will freeze the astaro for a couple of minutes plus three times a day the firewall will drop all connections due to high cpu usage when the reporting routines are working on accounting data to fire up the executive reports for example. Yuck.
