Did you connect to the correct interface? Try other interfaces until your ping works to 172.16.16.16.

What's the default user/password?

The device is not yet registered.

Hi there,

I've figured it out. This was an IE issue. With Firefox I can login.

But now, I've the next problem. I need a serial number for activate my home device. Where can I find this? I've no serial number!

Is there anywhere a howto?

Howto, when you applied for the software download you had to supply and email address. You should have received an email with the url for the software and a licence key.

Go to www.sophos.com/.../sophos-xg-firewall-home-edition.aspx and click on get started. Follow the steps and you will get another email with a serial number for your appliance.

Check your spam filter - it is probably in there somewhere.

Try another email address, if you have one.

You can login to your My Sophos account with your Sophos ID here:
www.sophos.com/.../login.aspx

That is targeting the English/US locale, so you may have a slightly different link, but if you go to www.sophos.com and click on the person icon on the top toward the right, you should be able to login.

Once logged in to My Sophos, choose Network Protection and then View Devices. The serial number should be showed there. I am _relatively_ sure this works for home edition as well.

If you don't have a my sophos account, CREATE ONE.

I can not connect to the XG with all browsers (IE, FF, ..) and can not log into the server via the command line because the server does not correct the error account.
Can you tell me the account log directly into the server is?
