Sophos Connect Client GPO Installation

I want to deploy Sophos Connect 2.3 to a group of computers before we install the firewall at the site and push the provisioning file.  File is easy, but the GPO to install the Connect Client, while applied to the computer, never installs.   We have a company (Proval) that creates scripts for Kaseya VSA and they are unable to script a successful installation of 2.3.

I looked around.  Found this from ages ago.  Sophos connect -GPO install

I see no errors in event log on the target machine.  gpresult /r shows the policy applied.

Is GPO installation not a thing for Sophos Connect?

  • Thank you  .  That didn't come up in a web search.

When installing the 2.3 client, I noticed that the installer upgraded the existing. IIRC, older versions required uninstalling the old version before running the installer.

Using Group Policy to push an app instead of a batch file is desirable because I can then use GPO to upgrade versions.

Guess we'll use the batch method.  Just not desirable. I'll experiment with it to see skipping the folder check will install 2.3 over 2.2.90.
