DHCP Release issue

Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help me. We've just implemented Sophos XG.

Randomly we are having devices not being able to get an IP address from the Sophos DHCP I setup. They get a 169.254.x.x address. The weird thing is sometimes if we leave it the next day you can connect to it, but then other devices cant get the devices. This issue isnt happening to everyone and I really dont understand whats going on or where to look?All DHCP are different vlan. facing issue in multiple vlan.

Ones after restarting firewall issue solved but now it occurred again.

If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

Hi, As rfcat_vk mentioned, this could be an issue with the firmware version. Make sure that you’re running firmware version 19.5 or above. You can also check the cached arp if the IP address is exhausted…

basically the error indicates your address range is too small.

Basically every department is working in different range.

Every vlan is configured 1 - 200 range but only 10 to 30 members in each department.

You can also check the cached arp if the IP address is exhausted.

You can also check the DHCP IPv4 leased IP if it was able to hand out IPs
