Can't receive an IP from a newly created VLAN using DHCP

Everytime I create a new VLAN, I cannot receive a valid IP.

Here's an example:

Here's the configuration for my newly created DHCP for VLAN 130

--------------

--------------------

----------

Sophos Router is connected to our Core Switch, and our Core Switch is connected to our Distribution Switch. I have already configured my Core and Distribution Switch. I can also upload a screenshot of their configuration if needed.

The port dedicated for VLAN 130 is giving out 169.254 which means APIPA, therefore the DHCP Service is not working properly.

Can you guys help me?

  • Hi,

the 169.254 is a self assigned IP address, nothing to do with the DHCP server, basically the address indicates that the device is not connected other VLAN. Please advise which version of XG you are running? Are your switched setup for L2 or L3 VLANs because earlier versions of XG only worked with L3 VLANs.
