Customize Quarantine Digest -> Release link : Customize Link and redirekt to the User Portal

Hello,

since Sophos changed the behavior of the Quarantine Digest, in every new major release (17.0,17.5,18.0,18.5),
the release link redirects to a static webpage complaining that the user should visit the user portal.

Can this be changed, so that the Releae link redirects the user directly to the User Portal?!

I get some request from my users (once a week or so) what to do and why sophos can´t fix this..

What is the use of this Option (Reference-Userportal-IP)?

  • I'm having the exact same problem. There are several articles related to this, but none of them have a satisfying answer to this question.

What I would like to know is:
    - Why is this behaviour changed in the first place?
    - Why can't I (as a fw admin) overrule this behaviour?
    - Why is that link still in the digest?
    - How can (from an end user perspective) the process of "open digest, sign in to (yet another) portal, go to email, go to quarantine, set filter, select email, click release, retrieve email" be a better user experience than "open digest, click release, retrieve email"?

  • This is the current implementation and cannot be changed as of now. You should contact your local sales rep to discuss the possibility to migrate to Central Email.

  • I'm fully aware of the fact that this is the current implementation. But what's the background of this? There's probably a good reason for this new behaviour, but I can't find any information about it. What am I supposed to tell my colleagues who are asking me why they just can't click the link and retrieve the email - just like the were used to for many years? "I don't know, somebody at Sophos decided it" won't do it.

And given the amount of feature requests, I'm pretty sure many people would love to see this change to be reverted or at least have the ability to overrule it.
