Registration Issue

Can you please share a snapshot of error message?

I finally got it to register and it was a home license after all of that work it said 30 day trial!! Safari web browser does not work for registration I used Microsoft Edge, after all of that effort and to find out there is no such thing as a free version for your home I deleted it and I installed PFSENSE. I am very disappointed in Sophos for a couple reasons. It’s surprisingly difficult to get it working and then when you do get it working after spending all of that time it’s a bait and switch. Reminds me of a used car dealership who walks you around until your tired then shows you what you wanted to see in the first place but it’s more expensive than you thought. Is there even a free home license. It seems like a scam. I even tried to do a reset and start over then I erased it and tried a fresh install only to see the same exact mystery problems. I am not going to waste another day or two on mystery problems to find out there is NO free XG home.

Sophos XG is a business product. Therefore the main purpose of building a XG is for business reasons. 

If you start a XG, it will expect you to be a business customer, therefore the business trial. Everything in the wizard is build for the business market. 

So to get a free home version, you have to register this process upfront.

This will send you a specific Serialnumber. This serial number has the home version attached to it. XG will always lookup the context of the license based on your serialnumber. 

BTW: You never actually put any bills or creditcards in XG, even if you go down the road to register a business appliance. It will simply start a trial with a serial and expiry after 30 days. No automatic charge etc. 

I did exactly that I received a home license and like I said before when I registered the “free” home license it only gave me a 30 day trial. I am over it no big deal. I installed PFSENSE. 

I assume, you set the "start trial" point in the wizard. Thats the mistake. But if you go with PFSense, i will mark you post as answered. 

I never hit the trial button. It would not work at all from Safari. I really wished the home license had worked.
