Xg Home free on SG 135 REV 2 ?

Hello,

i get back from my company an old SG 135 REV 2, i installed the iso HW-18.0.4_MR-4-506.iso but it seems i cannot use it with the home version, it's just 30 days trials.

I tried to install another iso (for intel hardware ) but i have an erro "Detected Sophos Physical Device. Please get proper installation source".

Can you confirm i cannot use a home XG free on the SG 135 without paid?

Thank you !

PS : I already search on the community but it never very clear.

  • Hello,

You need to fully wipe out the disk before installing, you can do this with any Linux distribution.

After It you will be able to install the Software version on It.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Prism,

can i do it with Gparted? After that, the Sophos XG iso it does not recognize the Sophos appliance right?

    Thank you!

  • You should be able to use Gparted, you will need to delete all partitions. (Don't forget to save/apply the changes after deleting the partitions with Gparted.)

There's is multiple threads like yours here in the forum, on almost all of them, they only had to wipe out the drive in order to install the Software version.
