RED unified firmware - please explain

Hi,

Is there any information about "RED unified firmware" and what models it supports?

I can't seem to find much.

XG 18.01

Thanks

Damien

  • What do you need to know? Unified Firmware is a new firmware for RED and SD-RED, which rework simply the inner working of some modules of the RED.

  • Does it support all models of RED from RED 15W to latest generation?
Is it still in BETA? (when you enable it, it says enabling BETA...)

Hey, I get it reworks some things, might be nice to have some insight as to what the aims are. Is it just modernising the platforms or are they trying to improve performance and or allow for new features?

  • Unified Firmware should be loaded, even without Beta RED Firmware enabled in XG. Its about to modern the firmware to get this easier to integrate into the OS.

  • Just to clarify, I'm not running any BETA build of the XG.

    I just upgraded 17.5 to 18.0.1.

Unified firmware was not turned on as a default.

This question is really trying to get information about the unified firm as there isn't any to be found.

So far you haven't really answered any of my questions.

Maybe  or someone from Sophos can offer some info.
