registration refused

Well, I went through all the install stuff for the XG firewall Home Edition. Got everything configured and went to register. I get this:

Sorry: only one 30-day free trial is allowed.

Error ID: XG-00108

Tracking ID 892e3068-d661-49b6-abb7-589924436671: please make a note of this.

A 30-day free trial has already been recorded against this serial number. If you have recently requested the 30-day free trial please synchronize your license so the trial license takes effect on your device.

If you want to migrate your license to SF-OS then please select that option.

If you believe you should be able to start a 30-day trial then please contact customercare@sophos.com, quoting your serial number.

 

So, thank you for allowing me to give it a try. I didn't think it was a trial, I thought it was the real thing. Fortunately, I had backed up the Linux OS that was on there.

Suggestion: provide some screen shots in the install instructions. The first time I tried to install, it hung in a loop wanting to upload firmware.

    Hi,

    you have not created your home licence, please go to mysophos.com and register for a home licence which will be emailed to you on completion of your registration.

    There are a lot of questions, so be careful which one you choose.

    OK, I have received a serial number but not a license. Don't see any way to get a license but when I synchronized, it did so. It says I am evaluating, with an expiration in 2999.

    Things seem to be running but nothing (like DDOS) seems to be enabled or can be enabled. Assume that is all on me, I will check out the docs.

    Hi,

    a serial number and licence are the same thing. Correct the home licence is evelauting until 2999 and all features should be enabled with a few exceptions.

    Some of the updated will take awhile to download and you should be able to enable various features while the updates are downloading.

    If you have further issues please feel free to post a screenshot of the offending item.
