XG Licensing for RED Tunnels

Has anyone seen this post https://partnernews.sophos.com/en-us/2020/03/products/substituting-xg-firewall-for-sophos-red-devices/?

I have always been told you need at least the network protection license for RED to work.

I have various SG models that only have the base license that I just loaded V18 fresh and they will not let me setup RED tunnels.

Can anyone from Sophos comment?
