XG 18 weird FW behaviour

Hi all

I am seeing some very odd behaviour on XG (v18).

Ultimately I am wanting to either throttle three endpoints or prioritise one via traffic shaping.

So...I have the default rule setup per below.

Oddity number 1 - if I apply a rule above this, even if I clone it, and then change the source to a test machine, all traffic to the WAN is immediately blocked for that endpoint.

If I move the rule below the default, nothing appears to apply - for example if add a block rule for HTTP/S, I can still browse.

Oddity number 2 being that no matter which traffic shaping profile I choose, no matter how I edit/clone them or whether I check or uncheck the apply to applications, no throttling or prioritisation seems to take effect.

I'm at a loss so any advice would be gratefully received, thanks

    Hi,

    Oddity number 1 would indicate you have a configuration issue with your IP address, Please check the logviewer to see why it is being dropped.

    Your published rule allows all traffic put so nothing would reach any rule below it.

    Please post an expanded version of your rule used in oddity number 2.You ned to be careful where you apply throttling because it can affect all your traffic on that rule including internal traffic.
