Adding traffic shaping to an existing VPN

Quick question.  Will adding a traffic shaping policy to an existing VPN require any of the following?

1. Reboot of endpoint XG appliances ?

2. Disconnect/reconnect of existing ACTIVE VPN.

3. Will the new traffic shaping policy need to be applied to both sides of the Site to Site VPN?

Thanks in advance

  • QoS is applied on the fly to new connection. I mean, if there is a TCP traffic going, the QoS is not applied. As soon the TCP connection terminates, the QoS applies.

You do not need to disconnect active VPN or reboot XG appliances.
