Is PC Engines APU still good enough for Sophos XG?

I like the small form factor of PC Engines.  I also like it has built-in Intel NICs.  I like that it is very inexpensive, even with accessories included.  I intend to set it up for home use with 5 users.  Maybe a max of 3 devices each person, but certainly not concurrent use.  I took a look at PC Engines website right now, and they have this processor to offer- AMD Embedded G series GX-412TC, 1 GHz quad Jaguar core.  My main use case is for the home to get SSL VPN access.  Some web filtering, and nothing else.

Hope to hear your insights.

  • Hi,

for that small number of users you will probably get away with a 1ghz CPU. Make sure it has 6gb of ram.

Do not expect the GUI to update very quickly when you are configuring the XG.
