Disable Email Scanning-XG Notification Emails

New XG install. The firewall notification emails (external smtp server) are failing in the mail spool. I have not tried an email client on the network yet. I don't need email scanning at this time. Is there any way to disable the XG from handling email  ? I have disabled the auto created firewall rule. Created a firewall rule to allow 587 out. Tried making an email exception for the SMTP server under email>policies and exceptions. Nothing has worked so far. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Update:

I tried an email client and the email is bypassing the firewall with no issue. Logs show the the firewall queuing notification emails from 127.0.0.1. I guess my question now is how do I get the notification emails to bypass the device.

Update 2:

I changed the outgoing port to 465 (G-suite email) and the notifications no longer queued. When I saw the email queue I assumed the XG was scanning the email but maybe its a general mail queue.

  • Hi,

the 127.0.0.1 source are the internal email from notifications you have setup when using the XG and external mail server.
