Dual Wan - X210 - Separate NAS

Hi,

I have been having issues with my bandwidth for  a while now.I figured out that my Synology NAS is using all the bandwidth it can get. So I got another DSL line. I now have 2 DSL 1/10mbit connections, separate modems plug into port 1 & 3 (wans) on my Sophos XG210

I currently have both connected and using Wan Link weight as  1:1.

What I would like to do is put the NAS on DSL B, and everything else on DSL A

I did search, read and try setting up a Port 4 with NAS only but was not able to get it work. I tried Zones, and again i was not able to get to to work.

I would appreciate if anyone can help (with detail steps/pictures) on how I can accomplish this

In short, I want to put all the passive connections, ie NAS, Plex, downloads, etc on DSL B, and the rest(ie:Netflix, Devices, WIFI on DSL A

thanks

David

  • David,

all you need to do is to create a Firewall rule and make sure to select the Gateway that will be used for that firewall rule. So on firewall rule one, as source put NAS and all other devices and as gateway, select gateway DSL2. Create a second firewall rule, after the previous one, for all the rest (you can put any as source) and select gateway DSL1.

    Regards

  • Thank you

I have copied the original firewall rule under "traffic to WAN" and renamed them DSL 1 and DSL 2). I disabled original rule

I assigned the primary gateway to the respective ISP (1 & 2)

I then added an item (Background_List) to "Source networks and devices" & "Destination networks", that included the IP address of my NAS

However no traffic is coming through DSL 2 rule (seems like all is still going through DSL 1)

It should also be noted that I  get TV service from DSL 1 and I have to have my tv devices connected via that ISP

Look forward to any help you can give
