XG unplugged, Sophos Central still reporting "CONNECTED"

This morning I was able to reboot XG via Sophos Central.

However, after that SC is still reporting the device to be "CONNECTED" but it's not responding. I went as far as to unplugging the WAN-cable, but Sophos Central is still listing it as "CONNECTED".

Has anyone else encountered this?

  • Depends on how often the update is refreshed and if it is just a ping. If you have a varying IP address how does the central site know how to contact your XG?

  • That's the strange thing. Some events get reported almost instantaneously, but in this case it took hours before SC was reporting that XG was offline.

  • The Disconnect / Connect alert is not accurate right now. 

    As far as i know, Team is already working on this. The Point is, XG does not use a "fast" keep-alive right now. So it only reports every (minute i guess?). And waits couple of time until XG will be consider "Disconnected".
