Unable to get ios into supervised mode?

I have followed the two guides on configuring an ipad to be in Apples Management Manager and Sophos Mobile.

I can see the devices in sophos under devices > Apple DEP. However when I click on the device name its reported supervised : no.

Checking the ipad, I can see under general > device management that the device is managed by sophos mobile. Besides that, it doesn't complete the rest of the configurations that I have set; to install the app, install the wifi profile and set to single app mode.

Under settings > setup> apple setup > APNs, the APN has expired. Could this be the reason why the ipads are refusing to be supervised? or is there something else I am missing Tweakbox

  • Hello Adam,

Thank you for reaching out to the Sophos Community.

If you wish to manage the iOS devices with Sophos Mobile Control, you will need to have a valid APNS certificate. If your APNS certificate has only recently expired, you may still be within the 30 day grace period in which you can renew the cert without any issues.

If more than 30 days have passed since the expiry of your APNS certificate, you will need to re-enroll all iOS devices to reconnect them.

When you are using DEP to enroll the iOS devices, you will first need to factory reset the devices for the DEP enrollment process to begin.
