Hi,
we figured out severe problems with the update of the ‚Installed Apps‘ listing after installing or uninstalling apps. We have an app in use which gets some updates during development, sometimes we switch between the productive and the development version of the app, which cannot be installed on a device at the same time, so we have to uninstall one version and then install the other. If I have a device next to me I can see when an app is uninstalled, install the other version and see immediately when it is installed. Without the device next to me, I have to relay on the information delivered by Sophos Mobile – and that is a real problem, because these informations are severely delayed. If I have a device next to me and an app is uninstalled, it takes quite some time the app is not listed under „Installed Apps“ anymore. Even worse ist he situation when we install an app, especially under Android 11 (devices are in KIOSK mode). Actual example: For testing purposes I had to switch a device from the current productive version to the latest development version, both are in (private) playstore. The development version was successfully installed half an hour ago, it was started and worked fine, but still it is not listed under the „Installed Apps“. Half an hour later! So we cannot relay on the information Sophos Mobile delivers, at least not on the „Installed Apps“.
Is there any other way to get information about the actually installed apps, I mean almost real-time information? Or is there a way to update the ‚Installd App‘ listing almost in real time? Why ist he update oft he „Installed Apps“ listing so delayed? Can we do anything to shorten the time, the „Installed Apps“ list is updated?
With kind reagrds, Andreas Siebert.
PS: We use the on-premise server version 9.6.5 of Sophos Mobile.
