Problem with automatic iOS Enrollment

Hello together,

since yesterday we have an issue enrolling new iOS devices automatically.

 

Until now I have figured out the following.

  • Yesterday v9.0.0 for Sophos Mobile Control App in AppStore went live. The day before yesterday the AppStore delivered v8.6.1 to new devices and enrollment was working as expected.
  • Automatic Enrollment after Opening the Control App now throws an "Activation failed" error which is described with: "Undefined error. Please try again later or contact your Administrator".
  • If I add a new Enrollment Task to the new device and Scan the QR Code, the Enrollment works fine, except that I have to accept the Installation of the device profile manually and confirm with the devices passcode.

 

Does anyone else have those issues since the app got updated yesterday?

  • Yep, happens for us with on prem and sophos central SMC. Only started once v9 ios app was pushed. After looking at the logs from the iPhones it looks like the url the app checks is malformed and the server throws a 404. Hopefully sophos can actually start testing their apps before pushing them to the app store.
