Hi All

 

 we use  he cloude version of Sophos mobile control.

we have the location feature  set as a compliance option device always has to have it on or the device goes non compliant which in turns denies email access.

recently last month or two I have had lots of user complaints advising that getting messages advising location feature is off when its actually on. i blew it off that it had lost location  due to our area being fairly rural. after completed complaints about this tok it a bit more seriously and set some test devices that never leave office  left them on WI-FI let them run for a few weeks to see the out come. first few days  nothing no issue. started to  think it was ust users being mistaken. hen bang day after day devices getting messages about location feature being off when its on and sophos console is not picking it up as being off just repeated messages at all ours of the day.

 

its not affecting the compliance of a device more just the annoyance of messages being false positive.

 

is anyone else experiencing this issue with locati

  • not seen that, log it with sophos and send device and server logs.

  • FYI, We have seen a similar issue.  We already have a ticket open with Sophos.  So far its been escalated to Global Escalation Specialist.

    Symptoms include:  "Locate not possible" alerts.  Alerts will some times appear and quick be resolved on its own.  Sometimes if the alert does not go away on its own, a simple "Refresh Data" will cause the alert to clear.

    Clutters the Alert logs whereas important alerts might get ignored due to the Locate Not Possible noise.
